a quick quip of where we have been!

From humbug state park, we cycled to crescent city california, !!yes we finally crossed the border, picked up old fashioned doughnuts and coffee, found great surf spot where it was breaking at about double overhead on sets and peeling perfectly down the beach. After the session we headed out and up the biggest hill known to man! Deep within the begining of the redwood highway, no shoulders and more rv's than i ever new existed! We attempted to stay at the top of the hill at mill creek state park but unfortunatly it was closed for the season! We pushed on through the oncomeing dusk, surviving on scoops of peanut butter! Passing an anatomically correct babe the blue oxe, and many small gift stores! We finally made it to elk prairie state park, ate food and slept. Morning brought sunshine and good spirits! We headed to patricks point state park, for hopefull surf, which turned out to be a deadly beach break of scary nine foot swells working very hard to desimate any stupid surfer attempting to paddle out! We were the only ones out! It rained all night and morning, cleared up mid afternoon, and we were off to eureka california! We ended up staying two days with an awesome couple from warm showers.com! and surfed twice in one day . The waves were head high on sets and clean beach break. Evening fog rolled in stopping the evening surf and we headed back to the house to pack up and get ready to go early in the morning. Tomorrow we will head to the avenue of the giants!
