So here we are! Tillamook county, yes the famouse tillamook cheese is made here and yes we did stop and eat our share of it at the free factory tour! It has been a memorable first couple of days on our bikes. We stayed in Lincoln city on the coast for a day and night getting our gear together and surfing the famouse otter rock. Our journy finally began, and by this i mean we actually were riding south on 101 at five pm in astoria northern most coastal town of oregon. The goonies were filmed here and so was short circut 2.., our first night of the 29th we road a wopping 8 miles to our campsite at fort stevens. It s a good choice because we had to work on our trailers and modify them just a bit. We met some other tourers, and they were astonded by our wonky looking trailers with surfboards attached! We arranged to leave early from our campsite to get a move on for the day. Our second day we experienced many long up hills, and made our way to ozwald state park to surf and camp! We rolled our trailers down closest to the shore that we could get them, grabbed our gear and surfed for two hours, when we were done we found out that there was no longer any camping in this area and we had to continue to Nahalem state park another 7-8 miles up and around a mountain! IT was a long second day for us, we pushed at least 35 miles , we were tired. Pulling into Nahalem state park we set up camp and ate as much food as our bellies could hold, took hot showers!, did some much needed yoga, enjoyed a cup of hot choc, and fell asleep.
We woke up with the sun, which is awesome not knowing what time it is and just listening to our boddies when we need sleep and food. We packed up our gear and were on the move yet again. OUr goal today was a small town just outside of tillamook, where we will be meeting a freind of ryans for the night and hopefully surf. which brings us to now, the tillamook public library... to be cont. ( We will hopefully be posting pics up of our adventure! but for now we are experiencing some difficulties with our internet access at library's please bare with us!)

The PlanWe will be starting our journey just north of Portland, Oregon on August 25th. From here we will be biking to the coast. We will be fully sustained along our journey and biking and surfing the wild places we love. We will be making stops in the great beach towns along the coast and meeting the wonderful people that make this stretch of the United States one of our favorite places to go. We hope to end our adventure in Baja, Mexicali around mid-October, 2009.
The Purpose
In our profession of outdoor education and adventure therapy we get to experience a lot of wonderful and wild places. We have seen the impacts of human influence on many of these places and want to do our part to educate and illustrate alternatives to the way we travel. We will also hopefully inspire others to slow down and think about what impact simple decisions can articulate for our future and children’s future. We have a deep desire to help clean up the oceans and shorelines we live and play in. We will help by organizing beach clean ups and educating others. Why Us…We are passionate about saving the places we love. We want to make a difference in whatever way we can and challenge ourselves along the way. We will educate the public on alternative modes of transportation as well as the impact of pollution on the environment. We believe by riding bikes from town to town we will have a chance to meet a variety of different people and have more of an influence on them by practicing what we preach. We are also avid surfers and bicyclists and see this adventure as a fun learning experience for us as well as the people we meet.We will be keeping up our blog as we are traveling on our trip.
